Useful Links
This page will contain links to other good resources. These will be useful for you throughout the year and a good way to engage in independent study.
General
Alpha History - An excellent general resource site with good info on the revolutions and great revision, exam and study tips. Well worth getting familiar with this site. The French Revolution Revolutions Podcast - We will use this resource from time-to-time in class. If you are an auditory learner, or are sick of reading, this will be a great resource to get your head around the events of the revolution. The website can be a bit hard to navigate, might be easier on your phone through a podcast app. Start at Ep 3.1 for the French Revolution. Lucyrevs - This is a few years old, but still a great resource for info on the French Revolution and the Revs course in general. Of particular value are the notes on major events. Worth getting familiar with. VCE ATAR calculator - this should only be considered a guide, and not taken too seriously. We will use this tool in our goal setting exercise though. Reach Out - Check this out when you're feeling stressed in 2015. Good advice on managing failure, exams, setting goals and putting some perspective on the year. Has videos and articles. Study Tips The Pomodoro Technique - Mr. Cain's favourite time management hack Wait But Why: Procrastination - A long but very good piece on why you procrastinate, and how to avoid it. Worth reading if you find yourself procrastinating this year. You don't have time to procrastinate ever, but especially not in year 12. |
